Entrepreneurship
My company, ForSka LLP, will provide advanced financial portfolio management and financial risk management tools to individual investors through new media channels such as a highly interactive website, an iPhone application and a Blackberry application.
Professional background
An engineer by training, I have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineeringand a Minor in Technopreneurship from the National University of Singapore.I was an SIA-NOL scholar, a KVPY National Merit Fellowship holder and a National Merit Scholar.I also spent about a year at Stanford University as part of an exchange cum internship program.
I have over 2.5 years of work-experience, primarily in Technology roles in startups and investment banks. I have also worked with firms such as Merrill Lynch and Barclays Capital. I have passed the CFA Level 2 exam and am a candidate for the CFA Level 3 exam.
Trading
I trade equities on the Indian markets using a combination of fundamental and technical analysis. I also trade heavily based on changes in valuations in response to news. Preferring to trade in blue chips, I often buy the dips and sell the rallies while maintaining a well diversified portfolio consisting of stocks from sectors such as Energy, Real Estate, Telecommunications, Banking and Technology. I particularly enjoy trading in volatile markets and rarely trade without some amount of hedging.
Technology
I am a big fan of the .NET framework and do virtually all my coding in C# though I have used unmanaged C++ extensively in the past. I am also big on design patterns and am one of those people who believe that programmers who don’t use design patterns become poor architects as they grow.
